Brenda: This blog began when, after decades of battling the bulge with regular walking, I discovered Weight Watchers and started running at age 53. The next seven years were the highlight of my life. I organized and ran 10Ks, 200 mi. relays, and even completed a marathon at age 56. It kept me thin and fit, giving me confidence to try camping, hiking, backpacking, bicycling, and motorcycling. We sold our home and traveled in a motorhome for two years and finally, after a lifetime in the wet Pacific NW, built a new home and settled in the desert of Central Oregon. I hit my 60s burned out and tired, had a brief run-in with breast cancer and am now back to walking. Subsequently ... all those pounds that sat patiently by during those frenzied years, came rushing back. Ahh well, old age. But the adventure continues with lots more walking, hiking, kayaking, a puppy, and building a camper van for even more travels. Welcome to my blog!
